Hi there, I’m Shireen

During my thirteen years of teaching experience, I have been immersed in a diverse range of school settings. From my very first school post, in a deprived area of Manchester to my most recent post in a challenging Pupil Referral Unit in London. One thing has always remained consistent my passion to make a positive difference to young people’s lives. 

 

I have always been a firm believer in young people receiving outstanding quality education and equal life chances, no matter what their background. As a child that grew up in the city of Nottingham, where opportunities were often limited especially coming from a working class background: education was instilled in me as an important aspect of my life. In several ways this broadened my horizons, allowed me to graduate from university and changed the course of my life path and potential.This is what motivates me to work with some of the most vulnerable and challenging young people in our society. My lessons challenge, support, encourage, but most importantly the lessons inspire the learners to believe in their capabilities to achieve.
